Get your shopping started early because prices skyrocket during Christmas. Even though all the items go on sale, items are still statistically pricer than they would regularly be.
Start a Christmas gift fund
Here’s a piece of awesome advice that you won’t see at many gift guides. Don’t spend money without planning. Start planning today. Start now with the first step, creating an awesome budget so that a Christmas fund can blossom from that.
A Christmas fund is a cool sinking fund. Regular sinking funds have no benefits for you because it is perpetually someone’s money. You’re always using it to pay the bills but with a Christmas fund, you actually get to spend the money!
So how do you create a Christmas fund?
Firstly, Create a fund in an account, a partition in your bank account or some sort of savings that you can add to.
Now, we don’t recommend doing physical money savings under your bedding but if that’s what it takes, go on and do that.
Secondly, get the download below and determine your budget. Just go for it. Enter the Christmas gifts that you wish to buy. Be realistic but not frugal, just think of it as your wishlist for others because the point isn’t to figure out the best deals. Just simply put, “you like it, you buy it”.
Finding the best deals comes later, although if it’s your nature and you can’t resist, then, by all means, find your deals and coupons while you’re at it.
Finally, take your intended Christmas budget and divide the number of paychecks or installments you can make into the fund prior to Christmas.
This will give you the amount you need to pay yourself for each installment period. If you can’t afford this, you need to find ways to reduce your budget or increase your spending income. Start saving by adding installment to it so that when Christmas comes about, you’ll have money to spend.
