…Here is Best Gift Listings Site Tools and Resources – Officially – AKA What we Use

Reliable and Secure Hosting // Blogging Platform

If you want to get started on your website and have it be reliable and secure, you need to have a good host. This is not a blogging course website but the gist is, a host carries your website on their server so you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars getting your own.

To have your own website on the internet, you must have many things. However, there are two are like “air and food” for blogging: Platform and Hosting.

Your blogging platform is the company that lets you put (not host) on their website, NOT the host, sometimes “platforms” are also host but not all the time. Beware of this. A blog hosting company lets you host their information on their server. They are a bit like different faces of the same coin.

Our blogging platform is WordPress.org

If you notice, “.org” is bolded. That is because there is “wordpress.com” and “wordpress.org

WordPress.org is what you want to use. It lets you have full control over all aspects of your website’s designs and potential earnings. So, if you want to take blogging seriously, then use wordpress.org

Over the lifetime of our website, we’ve used 3 hosting platforms (listed below) and one of them, which we are currently using is Bluehost!

  1. Bluehost (Our Current Host) – We wish we found it earlier
  2. Site Ground – Only moved from SiteGround because Bluehost had 21 more minute uptime per year!
  3. WP Engine – Really good but expensive

All these hosts are awesome but frankly, Bluehost is better by a mile. We list them so you can have options but we strongly recommend Bluehost!

Due to this, we honestly don’t want you to go with anyon but Bluehost. This is also why we didn’t any links to them. Anyways, that’s our 2 (thousand) cents.

We can’t say why we left day but we CAN say why we are with Bluehost. Bluehost is faster, low downtime, and the best customer service. Additionally, WordPress, the world-class content and website manager, and our content host (not website host) recommends it.

Great Website Theme

Everything on this list is a dire essential if you want to have a successful website. Themes are especially important because they’re the skin to your body (your website). You can’t have a website without a theme- and a good one as a matter of fact.

Currently, the team that we use is Revenue Pro Theme by HappyThemes.

Happy Themes has many themes including Revenue Pro Theme

It’s simple, fast, and keeps a blog-like esthetic while having an official magazine esq appearance.

Other best places to get themes are Genesis Themes, Thrive Themes, and Elegant Themes. We’ve used all of these themes, by the way, we like experimenting with the design to see what looks best. And we can say that they’re all excellent in their own right.

Email and Newsletter

Every good blogger will tell you that you should collect email addresses from day one! We didn’t do this when we started off but now we have a huge list that we use to send out weekly newsletters and notification.

We’ve used GetResponse and only switch to ConvertKit but since we’ve used both of them, we oughta include them as part of our site tools and resources.
